New Starship Cargo Prototypes, SpaceX Launch Aborts, Launch Schedule Revealed, Soyuz & LM to Launch | helppediaindia

Welcome back everyone to another space news weekly summary with me we once again have a lot of ground to cover regarding starship development updates as well as some launch news and setbacks to discuss first things first though we'll kick off as we usually do with starship updates [Music] development at starbase remains as active and interesting as usual to start

Things off nick antoini caught this great photo of the new smooth starship in oscon a far cry from the ones we've seen up to now compared with the sn8 nose cone this looks leagues better we're not 100 certain which ship if any this nose cone will be used for but many believe that it'll be used for ship 24. in addition to being smoother than its predecessors this nose cone also contains both the methane and oxygen header tanks rather than just the oxygen Header tank like in previous starship prototypes this was learned after nasa space flight caught a lack of a methane header tank during ship 24's common domes leaving something that was confirmed by elon musk construction progress on the new high bay continues it's rapidly rising above the starbase site and it's starting to really make the current highway look pretty small in comparison the prevailing expectation is that this wide high bay will accommodate The simultaneous construction of multiple super heavies something that isn't currently possible with the current high bay as it's just a bit too narrow to house more than one booster now on screen right now is a new video released by ground truth they've been posting some amazing star based time lapse footage on their channel and have very kindly allowed me to showcase their footage in space this week so go give them some love and like and subscribe And tape if you are enjoying this video then consider leaving a like as well if you're enjoying the journey so far and subscribe to make sure that you never miss a space news update now last week i mentioned that ship 20 was moved from its stand onto a self-propelled transporter and we predicted that this was so it could be moved to a stand much closer to the launch tower well that's what happened this will probably be the spot that starships will be placed on Before final stacking onto a booster before an orbital launch stacking of course being done with the chopstick arms with ship 20 and booster 4 both very close to the pad we might see a stacking test of the full ship 20 and booster 4 combo like we did last year but of course this time using the chopsticks rather than frank and crane many of you are probably aware that i use a lot of animations for the starship segments of space this week we're also Lucky to have so many talented animators in the community to keep our appetite for starship launch news satisfied while we wait for it to all happen for real i want to showcase this amazing piece by rocketdown91 who shared their render of raptor one on reddit last week yep that's not a photo this is some fantastic work here i have another render wizard to mention as well ryan hansen released this cool animation of how the starship cargo door may work There's been a lot of speculation about how the payload doors will function on starship whether it'll be a door like the one in this animation by eric and small stars or if it'll be more akin to the space shuttle's double doors this animation here is based on a real prototype that's been spotted at starbase unfortunately i don't have the usage rights to show you the real thing but this animation does a good job of showing what it looks like and how it'll Operate whether or not this ends up being used on the final starship build remains to be seen elon has stated on twitter that the exact way in which payloads are loaded and deployed is a matter of much internal debate at spacex so we'll have to wait to see how development of this system evolves but that's all i have to say about starship this week really and we're basically in february now which means that we're less than a month away from the faa Presumably giving approval for orbital launches so it won't be too long now before we start to see some really amazing things at starbase there is a good chunk of stuff that i want to talk about now that took place last week elsewhere in the space industry so let's take a look at that now [Music] on the 25th of january china launched a long march 4c which carried a single earth observation satellite to low earth Orbit on behalf of the chinese ministry of natural resources the satellite will operate in an orbit at an altitude of 600 kilometers and will be used to monitor the geological environment landslides and earthquakes i was expecting to be able to talk about spacex's latest falcon 9 launch now which is a falcon 9 carrying the csg-2 satellite but unfortunately the 28th of january launch was aborted due to unfavorable weather conditions the new Launch window was sunday night which would have been after this video gets made so i unfortunately can't really confirm if this happened or not this time so i'll let you know in next week's episode now last week dylan taylor a passenger on new shepard flight ns19 posted a full capsule video of the flight to youtube this is a really cool video to see and it's great to see the crew's reactions during the liftoff and descent and getting to see the window Views like this is a real treat it's a shame blue origin haven't shared anything like this themselves sooner as for me at least it makes the whole thing seem even cooler than it already did i highly recommend checking the full video out there's a link in the description below we had some news from spacex last week as well last year they broke their annual launch record with a total of 31 flights for 2021 5 more than in 2020 and this year they're looking to break it Again during a key nasa agency oversight committee last thursday pamela member sandra magnus revealed for us that spacex is targeting an ambitious 52 launch manifest for 2022 which works out to one flight per week it's not clear if this is just falcon 9 and falcon heavy launches or if it includes starship test flights as well even so spacex are already launching at a weekly average this year we've already seen three successful falcon 9 launches or four fcs G2 launches before this video releases and there's another starling flight scheduled for today as well there's a few other launches happening over the next seven days actually which is a good setup for me to roll the transition to the video's next segment or the launch is expected this week [Music] the first expected launch is the aforementioned starlink flight on the 31st of january this will see a falcon 9 Launch 49 styling satellites to shell number five after this spacex will launch another falcon 9 on the 2nd of february this will be launching from the vandenberg launch site carrying a secret reconnaissance satellite for the united states department of defense unfortunately this means i can't really talk about the payload since it's all classified what i can talk about though is the rocket itself this will be a Brand new falcon 9 first stage booster 1071 so the launch footage will have a nice shiny rocket rather than the ash and ones that we usually see furthermore the booster will be landing back at the vandenberg site rather than on a drone ship which means that we'll get some better footage of the landing itself i do love me some third-person views of these things coming down on the 3rd of february we'll see russia launch a soyuz 2.1 a from the placetzka launch Site it's currently not known what the payload is in fact it could be classified and we may never find out but if we do eventually find out i'll let you know in next week's episode where hopefully i'll be able to talk about what a big success this mission was those are the only three flights that have confirmed launch dates this week but we are expecting a couple of launches from china over the next seven days as well the first will be a ceres One carrying two earth observation satellites and one technology demonstration cubesat to low earth orbit the second one is an exciting one this is a long march 11h which will launch from china's ocean launch platform in the yellow sea the rocket will carry two earth observation satellites to low earth orbit so yes busy week up ahead with up to five launches or more and i look forward to telling you how they all went in next week's episode but as for This week's episode that's everything i hope you've enjoyed it and a huge thanks to all my patreon and youtube channel members who helped support this content and if you liked this video then a thumbs up below is always very much appreciated there are two video suggestions on screen one of them is my latest upload that'll statistically be my most recent kerbal space program video i get a lot of comments asking me to bring ksp back on this channel so i'm Guessing people sometimes miss the kerbal uploads anyway check that out if it sounds interesting i certainly had a lot of fun making it but yes the video is over so once again huge thank you for watching and i'll see you all next time
